The public best knows the Support Services Bureau for our Lost and Found Services . We also have major responsibilities in seven other areas. The functions include , property and evidence control , uniform purchasing , and training, fleet repair, homeland security, building maintenance and firearms equipment and training.
To utilize our Lost and Found function, we can be contacted at 617-796-2107 between 8a.m. And 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Our location is in the building located behind police headquarters.
We receive a variety of properties such as jewelry, phones, cameras, money, wallets and keys. Every effort is made to locate the owner. If belongings cannot be returned to the rightful owner within a year, it is offered to the finder. Otherwise, if there is no finder, the merchandise is sold at auction.at propertyroom.com after 30 days.
In our Homeland Security role, we have offered assistance along with other bureaus to the public and private sectors. Examples of services have included vulnerability and threat assessments, security surveys and referrals for training and resources.
Our other duties are support services to other departmental bureaus. We do invite inquiries, input and solicitation. Please use our phone above or the e-mail link.
