IF YOU HAVE A PASSION FOR HELPING ANIMALS THEN NMART IS FOR YOU!
All volunteers must register with NMART before they can help care for animals in a disaster. The City of Newton reserves the right to turn away any unregistered volunteers.
All positions on the team are voluntary. No one is required to work with the team during a disaster.
Note: Volunteers will not be able to handle animals without a rabies vaccination. Proof of rabies vaccination or rabies titer is required. “If you do not have a current vaccine or rabies titer you will be asked to sign a waiver stating you are aware of the risk of working with unvaccinated animals”.
There are several different ways to become involved. Even if you have never worked with animals before, the NMART team needs your help. We are looking for people with all types of backgrounds and skills, animal and non-animal related.
Please view the descriptions of some of the volunteer positions: Volunteer Descriptions. Volunteers with all types of skills are welcomed.
