Newton Police Department Tip Line
The Newton Police Tip Line can be accessed by calling 617 796 2121.
The tip line rings directly into a voice mailbox where messages can be left. The information will be reviewed by a Detective Bureau Supervisor to determine what action should be taken.
Information concerning criminal activity will be handled by the Newton Police Department or will be forwarded to the appropriate law enforcement agency. Information regarding illegal drug activity will be shared with the Suburban Middlesex County Drug Task Force if appropriate.
Callers are encouraged to leave the identity of the suspected offenders, the identities of any of their associates, their addresses, and their vehicle descriptions. In the case of illicit drug activity, callers are asked to relay what types of drugs are involved and the location of drug activity.
The Tip Line is anonymous. No attempt will be made to determine the identity of the caller. Callers are encouraged to leave their name and telephone number so additional information regarding the tip can be obtained.  Callers leaving their contact information will be contacted by a Detective Bureau member for follow-up. The identity of all callers will be kept strictly confidential.
